The Tokyo Station Hotel and the direct Keiyo Line train to Tokyo Disneyland

The Tokyo Station Hotel is built inside Tokyo Station, and Tokyo Station is where the JR Keiyo Line to Tokyo Disney Resort begins. The trip to Maihama Station, the station for Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, is direct: one train, no transfer. For a family with young children, not having to change trains with a stroller is the part that matters most.

The journey

The Keiyo Line platforms are a ten-minute walk from the shinkansen platforms, and it is worth allowing twenty minutes with luggage or if you do not know the station. The run to Maihama takes 13 minutes on a Keiyo Rapid and 16 minutes on a local. Maihama Station to the Tokyo Disneyland gate is about five minutes on foot.

The first train leaves Tokyo Station at 4:55.

One thing to know about the Keiyo Line

Do not take the Commuter Rapid. It skips Maihama. Local and Rapid services both stop there.

What the hotel gives a family with a park day

Room service breakfast runs from 6:15 am, which covers an early start for park opening. Luggage can be sent to the hotel ahead of arrival, and stored at the Guest Relations Desk on the 1st floor both before check-in and after check-out.

Children aged 12 and under may share a bed with an adult, limited to one child per bed. For two adults and two children the hotel recommends a twin room.

The hotel has ten restaurants and bars on site, so an evening after the parks does not require going back out.

What it is not

This is not an on-property Disney hotel. Guests at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel or the Disney Ambassador Hotel walk to the gate in minutes. What a stay here trades that for is a central Tokyo base: one direct train to the parks, and the rest of Tokyo and the whole Shinkansen network from the same building.
